A user asked if ControlUp supports Nutanix Files, and it was mentioned that while Nutanix Files specific metrics cannot be seen, AHV can be added for lots of storage information. EdgeDX from ControlUp is a different product and cannot be installed on an FSVM. It was suggested that adding Nutanix CE CVM nodes & Prism Central VM’s to ControlUp via Retouw.nl could give some insights. Furthermore, CIFS shares or SMB Protocols can be tested for availability using ScoutBees or a scheduled trigger that starts an SBA and alerts if anything fails.

Does ControlUp supports Nutanix Files?
You cannot see Nutanix Files specific metrics but you can add AHV and get lots of storage informations.
I am not brave enough to install EdgeDX on a FSVM though…
Maybe @member can Test in Lab 🙂
EdgeDX is different product of ControlUp?
Yep. But as mentioned even with EdgeDX you will not get Nutanix Files specific metrics and I am 97,6% sure that Nutanix will not support installing an Agent in an FSVM.

you could try this for the FSVM Adding Nutanix CE CVM nodes & Prism Central VM’s to ControlUp – Retouw.nl
obviously not really supported but it can give some insightsWhat abt CIFS share or SMB Protocol I want to monitor. Can I do it with ControlUp
We do not actively monitor them but you could test availability using scoutbees or even a scheduled trigger that starts an sba, does tests and alerts of anything fails
