The user was looking for a report which would show what ControlUp had been doing in their environment and to spot trends week-over-week. It was suggested that the Incidents Pane in the Realtime Console and the Environment Assessment report in Insights be used to look at performance-related data. Reports in Solve, documenting and highlighting successes for ControlUp, and automations enabled in the Automation Module were all suggested as well. Additionally, there is a new in-product report which will present data out of the box.

Hi all. We have ControlUp in our environment currently and things are going well. However, I’ve been tasked with creating a report that shows what ControlUp has been doing for us. Is there a reporting engine that can create this for me? I think it would also be useful to have week over week reports to help spot trends.
Maybe look into the incidents pane in the bottom of the Realtime console. Every time a trigger is tripped its recorded there. It should give you an idea of how many times ControlUp identified something or ran an automated action.
Ok, that was where I started, but there’s only 2 weeks of data there.
There is. Its always the last 2 weeks.
But if your looking for more performance related data week over week the environment assessment report in insights might be of value. It shows the data from yesterday compared to the previous weeks “yesterday”.
Thanks for your help!
If you go into Solve and click on the small clock, you will see a bunch of reports that may help you find out what reports you are looking for.
Thanks Clint, This will be useful to me going forward.
@member A good way to show controlup is working for u and giving value is to document and highlight uses that it helped identify and resolve. Even small issue on a day today basis. That is the real power of controlup that you can identify issue at a glance. Live in the console as much as you can gives u so much insight into ur environment u can pick up on issues well before they become an issue
also find a way to integrate alerts in to your helpdesk tickets that way you can always bull reports and see trends of issues that controlp is detecting and if u ahave automation you can also track how many issues have been auto resolved
One other suggestion @member,if you guys are licensed for our Automation module, I strongly suggest enabling some useful automations (e.g. logoff idle sessions, restart hanged VDA’s etc…). than, you can use the audit log to show how many automations are running on a weekly basis. always a powerful statement
(we are working on a new in-product report that will present such data points out of the box)
@member now you are making me happy. 🙂
