A user asked if there was a way to disable auto updates for devices with the ControlUp agent other than disabling them one at a time; it is possible to do so by turning off version control. The reason for this was due to CarbonBlack blocking the agent when it gets updated. As a solution, the user was suggested to get a CarbonBlack rule in place to allow it, simplifying future upgrades of the agent.

Hi, I have my devices setup to have the agent automatically update. Is there a way to disable the auto updates? Other than disabling it one by one.
Just turn off version control.
If I may , why do you want the auto update turned off ?
Some customers don’t deploy the agent manager and only deploy the agent. Version control in that case isn’t relevant.
I have deployed the agent manager. We have CarbonBlack in our environment which is blocking the agent when it gets updated.
Well to answer your question, just turn off that checkbox. It basically disables the agent manager.
You’d have to manage the upgrades of the agent manually in the future. I would suggest getting a CB rule in place to allow it. Make your life alot easier in the future.
