The user asked if administrative privileges were required to upgrade the monitor from the console on another VM, and if they were needed for the one-time upgrade from 8.6 to 8.7. It was clarified that the organization owner MUST be the first user to upgrade the Real-Time Console to version 8.8, but after that any user can upgrade to 8.8 with any admin rights; and the organization owner is only required for the initial upgrade from 8.6 to 8.7. A user can be added in "AD Connections" with admin rights to override the user used to upgrade the monitors.

Do I need any adminstrative privileges on the monitor machine to upgrade the monitor from the console on another VM? Bit tricky since the upgrade needs to be done with org. owner from what i understand
Asking because of this:
- The organization owner MUST be the first user to upgrade the Real-Time Console to version 8.8.
- All other users MUST upgrade the Real-Time Console to version 8.8 after the organization owner. Users can no longer access previous versions of the Real-Time Console once the organization owner upgrades to version 8.8.
So the steps to upgrade the monitor are: 1. Start the new console (does this have to be org owner??), and upgrade monitor)
- Start new console after monitor upgrade (this has to be the org owner – but not from the monitor server itself?)
You can add a user in "AD Connections" that has admin rights to override the user used to upgrade the monitors.
And needing to be an org owner is only needed for the one-time upgrade from 8.6 to 8.7. Once on 8.7 it no longer needed for upgrades.
