A user asked if it was possible to run a script periodically on a subset of clients in Edge DX. Suggested methods included using device tags and environment variables, or using Get-Random. Any plans to upgrade ControlUp with Splunk to a version 9+?
The IOP team is looking at upgrading Splunk to a version 9+ after a customer's security scan revealed multiple vulnerabilities for versions below 9.x. In the meantime, exceptions have been put in place. IOP is a Splunk OEM product and cannot be incorporated into another Splunk solution, and multiple support requests have been sent as well. Ref #132898.

How often is the Session Activity supposed to be updated in ControlUp?
Data is uploaded to Session Activity every 30 minutes and processed in about an hour. The Session Count report can be used to check the last upload time. There is an unrelated data issue that is being observed to see if it fixes itself at the next data dump.

Accessing Historical Reports with ControlUp Solve Trial License
A user was trying ControlUp Solve on a trial license and found the UI promising, but couldn't access historical reports as they were running an on-premise appliance. It was suggested that the user deploy the on-premise appliance and use a version 8.6.5 or higher, but that Solve on-prem does not have built-in historical reports. To access these, they would need to connect to IOP.

Error “This app can’t run on your PC” trying to use Remote Assistance on the ControlUp Console
When attempting to use Remote Assistance from the console, a file with no association appears. It is not possible to use the console on Server machines. Enabling the desktop experience feature may help. There is also a scripted action called "Shadow session" to enable it properly, however group policy values and administrator access to the target machine may be required. Troubleshooting ControlUp Solve / Edge Access for Help Desk Guys
A user had setup ControlUp Solve / Edge access for help desk guys, however they weren't seeing the same controls on their Edge machines as the user could. Checked permissions as a suggestion, the user found that the permissions were set under Edge DX. They only had the viewer role, which resolved the issue. Access can be found in Edge via Solve Configuration > Access Control, and Solve has manager & non-admin security policies.
