How to Group Devices in ControlUp for Running Scripts on Multiple Devices

A user inquired about grouping devices for running a script on 3000 impacted devices and EdgeDX's capabilities for creating a group or importing a device list file. A colleague confirmed that groups and tags can be created and shared a link to documentation on organizing devices. Another colleague suggested using scripts or the API for setting tags or device groups and shared a link to a useful script library. The user expressed gratitude for the information.

Troubleshooting Remote Shadowing with ControlUp on Edge DX

ControlUp Edge DX Alert Issue Resolved

Several users reported an issue with ControlUp Edge DX this morning. They were unable to see System Events, even though they had admin rights. A ticket was logged for this, and the issue was reproduced and fixed by the ControlUp team. It was suggested that the problem may have arisen due to a mismatch between UI and API.

The Potential for Bi-Directional File Transfers in ControlUp’s EdgeDX

The topic of EdgeDX was brought up, and the user inquired about the possibility of bi-directional file transfers. It was confirmed that EdgeDX currently has the capability to send and retrieve files during a remote control session. However, the user was looking for a way to send files to a machine not on the network, without having to establish a remote session. This feature is not currently available, but there is a suggestion on the ControlUp UserVoice forum. How to Troubleshoot Connection Issues with ControlUp for Physical Endpoints

There is a potential issue with connecting to a Windows device with Edge DX installed. It was suggested to check the event viewer and device events, and to allow the traffic on the proxy/firewall. The agent's outbound tunnel may also facilitate inbound requests, but if the websocket connection fails, a different method will be used. The documentation for this can be found at https://support.controlup.com/v1/docs/prerequisites-for-controlup-for-physical-endpoints-apps, and logs may also appear in the device events in Edge DX itself.
