Users discuss authenticating with the RT console in ControlUp 9.05 using a domain admin account without an email address. It is mentioned that an email address is now required for authentication and that LDAP login is still possible. A call is suggested for clarification. The ControlUp account – email based user is also mentioned.

Using 9.05, i have a need to run the RT console as a domain admin that has no email account. Is there a way to authenticate outside of saml as we do for all other accounts?
You can use the same email address for multiple accounts (regular and admin accounts). The email address is only needed to send you the one time code to authenticate.
I believe the one time code is no longer an option with 9.05 as it forces us to use SAML
No not at all. You can still use LDAP. Some customers don’t want to use SAML to login. Give it a try. 😁
i have ldap login enabled and the dex site will only accept an email address which this account doesn’t have.
I know it can be a bit confusing. I would happy to schedule a quick call to help you out.
Hi Matt,
The RTDX log in is the same as for DEX
You can use any allowed methods: email and password / Azure and Google OAuth / SAML
i get the same screen. maybe i’ve confused people this morning. i cannot use any of these methods since this account does not have an email associated with it.
OK, this is the ControlUp account – email based user (not LDAP account)
Same email you used when registered to ControlUp (in the previous versions you got OTP every couple of weeks to this email)
