A user wanted an architecture diagram for their security team, and requested feedback on the provided one. Comments focused on missing ports to the CU agents and Citrix servers, and that data collectors were also not included. It was suggested that a more basic, old diagram should be used to show the relationship between monitors, cloud and agents, and console to agents and cloud. Additionally, a link to ControlUp documentation was shared (https://support.controlup.com/docs/controlup-architecture-security-concepts).

Also does his Diagram look accurate? I’m planning on providing this to our security team.
i think ur missing the Controlup port to ur CU agents on the Citrix servers
40705
the Citrix data collector is api not agent
You still need 40705 to from the console/monitors to the data collector.
yes š but i would take from that diagram it was for the Citrix data
but i always used this š its shows everything perfect
only missing the proxy addresses
from the controlup ports
ehh… Marketing. No 443 from the console to the cloud, missing bidirectional 40706, etc.
Thank you so much. !!
the lads shared with some controlup stensiles as well
Yeah, Yair stole mine and posted it. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
haha
Later on that thread I posted the newer one.
Cheeky @member
And the āmarketing versionā above was more technically detailed when I, a marketer, created it. But I was asked to dumb it down š
I have to dive into my archives to see where the previous version is. Itās PowerPoint so itās definitely not made for doing technical documentation
Of course it’s PPT, you’re a, Marketer š
Actually that skill set comes from being a sales engineer many times
Still would not call this an official architecture diagram (e.g. it doesn’t show Collectors in this picture), but for those who want to use it, here you go
@member has a great one in her training class.
@member thanks for tagging me! My diagram might be too simple for these guys. It’s waaaaay basic and an old one I use just because it is so simple in order to show the relationship of the monitors to the cloud and agents, and the Console to the agents and cloud.
@member for the security guys, give them this link: https://support.controlup.com/docs/controlup-architecture-security-concepts It covers a lot of questions they may have and may make new questions as well, lol
the PowerPoint and security diagram would be perfect if they include the data collectors.
