This script is designed to measure the time it takes for a VM to start and accept the first user connection when the containing host pool is set to "Start VM on connect". It can be used with an Azure resource ID and tenant ID, and requires credentials to be configured beforehand. The script works with Azure AVD and is hypervisor independent, but it is unknown if it works with an on-prem hypervisor like VMWare or with Azure HCI.

This script is for AVD session hosts where the containing host pool is set to "Start VM on connect" (so VMs can be powered on only when users are actually going to use them) and calculates the time, via various log sources, it takes the VM to start and accept the first user connection.
As with all ControlUp scripts, it can be run outside of ControlUp by specifying the required parameters which in this case are the resource id of the VM (copy it from the JSON view for the VM in the Azure portal) and the tenant id. Credentials must already have been configured as per https://support.controlup.com/docs/az-store-azure-credentials
would this also work with an on-prem hypervisor like VMWare
What technology are you delivering the desktops through – Horizon? The script is hypervisor independent but reliant on AVD – I’ve no idea if it works with Azure HCI
