The conversation began with customers asking for the ability to filter applications in widgets, blacklisting or whitelisting them. ControlUp is now excluding ControlUp processes and allowing customization of widgets in the upcoming Solve release. In addition, there will soon be a new analytic report for machines with high CPU. Finally, users can use Export-CuQuery to create a workaround to get data on applications crashing or hanging.

Hello all. I really like the dashboards with all the widgets. A quick way to get an overview. Can I control which application is displayed in the "top 5" widgets? Blacklisting or Wihitelisting? Applications are often displayed here that I would like to exclude. The question originally came from a customer who would like to customize the Applications report in the "Top Insights" report in Insights. If there is a way to do this, it will be the same configuration, I think?
right now these are hardcoded (I just wish we could remove cumonitor.exe from the memory list) @member @member we’ve discussed this before can we research the options to make these lists filterable?
It would be super cool if you think about it. Thank you.
I have heard this from on-prem customers as well.
Hi @member, thanks for the feedback! In the upcoming Solve release (in 2 weeks), we have already excluded all ControlUp-related processes from the Top5 widgets, which includes the following:
• cuMonitor.exe
• cuAgent.exe
• ControlUpConsole.exe
• cuAgentHelper.exe
About excluding the system processes, we will add this as an option soon. On top of that, we are currently working on the option to create customable Top 5 widgets.
Regarding the "Top Insights" report – @member can update on this one.
This is a very useful update. Great to hear 🚀
Hi @member as part of the Streaming Project we are currently working on "migration" of the "Top Insight" report to the Solve. the database (schema) will includes additional metrics and metadata, this will allow us to Enhanced our report and present new analytic
An example of a new report we plan to add will be "Machine with High CPU Report" – the report will present the top contribute application (and their anomaly score) in the top 10% of the machines with the highest CPU.Hi David. Sounds nice 👍. Good development of the product. One customer just asked me, if there is a report of hanging / crashing applications.
I immediately thought of the report in EdgeDX (Top Processes by Application Crash). This might also be a nice idea for an Solve EUC report, if possible.
with a workaround you can already build that, I actually did something similar in custom script for a customer. Setup triggers for eventid 1000, than use export-cuquery to get eventdata every 30 minutes (you get data for the last hour) or more often and add this to a list. Each event has a unique id so you can easily filter out if it’s already in the list.
Wow nice. I will have a look at this. Export-CuQuery is very usefull 😊 Thank you
