A discussion took place about pushing files and applications remotely to multiple machines. Options such as Intune were mentioned, but the user was redirected to setting up a FTP/HTTP page to act as a repository. Future consideration will be given to enhancing the file transfer capabilities of EdgeDX for log collection and other uses – users should add this feature request to UserVoice with as much detail as possible.

Does anyone ever push files via EdgeDX to endpoints? if so, what mechanism do you use for that?
Its now baked into the remote control of Edge.
oh right on! what about pushing out an application to multiple machines?
Intune? 🙂
Nope. People ask but I don’t think there are any plans for such a thing.
I see, and nothing in the new compliance stuff that will have that?
thats probably all pulling from a url, not a file repo
Nothing stopping you from putting whatever on a FTP/HTTP page and then using a script to pull it down and install on multiple machines at once.
yeah ok thats what I was thinking
thanks!
@member We are considering enhancing our file transfer to allow for things like collecting or pushing files to multiple devices (for log file collection, updating a config file etc.) – please add this to UserVoice with as much detail as possible, that helps us prioritize.
