When attempting to use Remote Assistance from the console, a file with no association appears. It is not possible to use the console on Server machines. Enabling the desktop experience feature may help. There is also a scripted action called "Shadow session" to enable it properly, however group policy values and administrator access to the target machine may be required. First time trying to use Remote Assistance from the console. When I try, i get a file that has no association. When i try to point it a msra.exe i get this:
I’m running the console on a Windows Server 2016. I tried running the Console on a Win 10 Desktop and it works fine.yeah, as far as I’m aware, Server can’t be the source or target of remote assistance
Does it matter if you have the desktop experience feature enabled maybe? Huge guess there
I have a script action called "Shadow session" that should work on all protocol types (HDX/ICA, BLAST/PCOIP,RDP/RDP-SXS,Console).
However, you need to configure some group policy values to enable it properly. I also have an override in the script action to "forcibly enable" the pre-req’s but it requires the ability to do remote-powershell to the target machine to configure them and you MUST have admin rights on the target box. Of course, if you have this all configured already than you’d be good to go easy-peasy.
