Users reported an apparent error when launching the ControlUp Console, asking for tips or help to resolve. The ControlUp team clarified that this is just an informational message rather than an error, and provided links for more information. It was also mentioned that the console must be run from a domain-joined machine using a domain user. Further discussion included potential changes to this requirement in the future.

We are getting this error (see attachment) when opening up the Control Up Console on laptops that are imaged with Intune Windows 10. We are running version 8.8 for the Console, so not sure why this will not launch for us. Any tips or help would be appreciated.
It’s more of an informational message instead of an error since that has been a requirement for a long time.
The good news is that many of those AD dependencies, including the console are going to change.

For the console there is a way to get around it through I think a registry key. But not something I know from the top of my head
Just to make sure: these windows 10 machines are not AD domain joined?
The machine you’re trying the console from?
The console must be ran from a domain joined machine using a domain user. Azure AD joined machines are not supported nor are local accounts.
You mean Entra ID
@member Yes, these are Intune imaged with Windows 10 and not DOMAIN joined.
@member Thx for the information on this, do you know if that will ever change? Should I put in a USER VOICE suggestion?
Thx again for everyone’s input, always appreciate the help!!!!
There was talk of front ending the console with saml but not sure if it’s getting attention with the push to dex.
I think front ending with DEX is on our roadmap for later this year. And that would include all supported auth methods
Goodbye OTP. 😄
