Customer questioned the potential for integrating Citrix container metrics into ControlUp’s Real-Time-DX. They went on to ask if these metrics would be relevant to Citrix UPM, and @member suggested replicating the UPM config check PowerShell script. This sparked a discussion about the potential for monitoring with Citrix UPM containers and the Control Up User Voice platform, and highlighted the importance of having a good relationship between users and the company. https://controlup.uservoice.com/forums/953875-controlup-uservoice-prospect-request-form/suggestions/47540390-citrix-profile-container

Hi, do you plan to integrate also the citrix container metrics into the real-time-dx? I assume that a lot of customers will switch back from fslogix to citrix UPM
I’m not aware of any plans, but that said I would suggest searching the User Voice in solve for it and vote on it or submit it if its not there.
ok thanks, i have created one https://controlup.uservoice.com/forums/953875-controlup-uservoice-prospect-request-form/suggestions/47540390-citrix-profile-container
I went to vote for this, but don’t see it. Do these need to be approved before they show up?
Looks like it needs to be approved. I’ll vote for it as it does seem a lot of Citrix environments will move back to UPM
The wiring has been on the wall for a while. Our days our numbered (Those of us who love RT Console). Thankfully, CU is a good company and are migrating features to Solve and building that environment up BEFORE they kill RT Console. A lot of other companies just would have forced a switch and left us with a product missing a lot of features. CU has always been good in this regard…taking care of customers.
My only "concern" is some of the RTC features that are difficult to implement in a Saas product (I’m looking at you Remote Desktop, Controllers, and Incidents tabs…you sexy tabs you)
I still spend the majority of my time in RT console because it’s quicker and has more features for me. But for those who like pretty pictures (I’m looking at you managers) or fast access from any web browser, Solve rocks it.
I won’t move fully over unless the controllers tab is fully replicated. It’s so powerful
AFAIK CPM has no such metrics like FSLogix brings and in my eyes parsing the CPM log file would be a horrible task.
Maybe CU needs to hire 12 interns for that task…
FSLogix is dead in the water. Many will certainly look to switch to Citrix UPM containers. I’ll add my vote 🙂
yea maybe it’ll require some dev on Citrix’s side too as Markus says, but they are definitely actively developing the feature, so perhaps not unrealistic?
@member are you familiar with any specific UPM metrics which would be relevant?
Hi Yoni, if it could replicate what the UPM config check PowerShell script does that would be good.
I’ve been considering adding it to my custom scripts to see what I can do myself.
Interesting. Cc @member @member, as we discuss our future Citrix UPM monitoring plans
And this is why Control Up and this community is awesome. It’s amazing how we can have a conversation with the COO
