A user asked about how to export users from Solve and add them to app.controlup.com. Another user mentioned that setting up SAML properly eliminates the need for this export. The first user requested a bulk import option and suggested that SAML groups do not work for them. A link was shared for configuring user attributes in the IDP. Another user stated that most customers get help from other departments for this process. A ControlUp team member thanked them for the feedback and mentioned that they will add an option to invite VDI users from the DEX UI.

How can i export users from Solve and add them to app.controlup.com ?
no need if you setup saml properly, if you don’t have saml you have a similar field in dex to create them
If we are being forced to goto app there should be a bulk import available.
im not manually typing in 150 email addresses.
and SAML groups wont work for us.
no need for saml groups to create them
https://support.controlup.com/docs/saml-sso-for-dex#step-3-configure-user-attributes-in-your-idp sAMAccountName and distinguishedName are the critical ones for account creation
This is freaking stupid
so now i have to get another department involved to add users to controlup?
to be honest that is what 98% of my customers do if they don’t have access to the saml control plane or azure oauth themselves. The entire experience is better and streamlined when using saml
Thanks @member this new transition is obviously above my head and I’m too stupid to grasp the concepts. I will put a ticket into support asking for their help in our transition.
Thanks for the feedback @member
We will add the ability to invite VDI (Solve) users from the DEX UI
