A user encountered issues with alerts for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux devices. It was suggested that they use a filter called ‘Platform’ in the Device Platform selector field and add a condition for os_name to the alert. As a side note, the value 2 corresponds to Mac and 3 corresponds to Linux.

Happy Monday
I created an alert for Microsoft Windows , but i i go and check all the alerts , i get macOS and linux devices in the Alerts as well
and again vice versa i have a alert for macOS , but im getting Windows devices in the alert
Let me check. I think I might have seen a thread on this

I have a feeling that the filter is related to what script you can choose, you may need to choose an additional metric called Platform and have it equal to 1 which is windows
The Device Platform selector field only filters down what scripts are available to work on that OS platform, it does not filter what OSs will be included in the results of the script being run.
They will therefore need to add a condition for os_name to the alert
so you need to add another line and filter that for the OS names you want it to trigger on
Just an FYI- os_name doesn’t exist in the Index Device status so platform will be your option here 🙂 So you are look for something like this:
Side note: 2 = Mac and 3 = Linux
was about to ask , Thank you Shivan
