The user asked about options for running a script at startup on ControlUp version 8.5.1.57, and was told that they need to upgrade to get an Uptime in Seconds greater than 300. A scheduled trigger was suggested, which would be evaluated every 3 seconds and kick off at the 5 minute mark, however the user is looking for real-time triggers and trying to become creative in the meantime.

What are the options I have for running a script at startup? We are on version 8.5.1.57
Uptime in Seconds greater than 300.
And you probably need to upgrade to get uptime in seconds instead of just uptime.
I have a cr schedule for upgrading next week.
I’m currently running a scheduled trigger but I have to schedule the trigger to run after all servers have been rebooted which is an hour. Wish there was another option to kick off the trigger in the meantime that is closer to the time its comes up.
@member what triggers would be real-time. meaning as soon as the data point changes it would kick off.
Well this trigger would be evaluated every 3 seconds so it would fire right at the 5 minute mark.
BTW, you wouldn’t want to drop this lower. The monitors attempt to connect to the agents every 5 minutes. If a machine is rebooted the monitor will get disconnected from the agent. If the monitor isn’t connected it won’t see the uptime and the trigger won’t fire.
I will use the trigger you provided once we upgrade the farm.
@member I’m looking to try to be creative in configure something in the meantime .
