A user asked if port 40705 needed to be opened between monitors and IGEL devices for Remote DX. It was suggested that no firewall rules were necessary, and the user was given the steps to deploy the Remote DX plugin and configure the virtual channel in order to view Remote DX metrics. It was also suggested for the user to test on a laptop/PC. The user then asked for the cuepux_srv_dll which was not immediately found.

A quick question. Is port 40705 enough to open between monitors and IGEL devices for RemoteDX. Not sure from the doc…
Hi Jean, for RemoteDX the data travels up a Citrix Virtual channel to the ControlUp Agent on the Citrix VDA machines. You dont need any firewall rules
The only thing you need to do is allow the virtual channel via a Citrix Policy. At the very bottom of this KB article you will see the steps needed https://support.controlup.com/docs/install-citrix-workspace-app-with-bundled-remote-dxThanks @member, we already disabled the virtual channels. But the IGEL are on a vlan on their own and there are firewall rules in our environment.
I followed https://support.controlup.com/docs/deploy-remote-dx-igel-citrix
As long as you can launch a Citrix session from the IGEL then you should see RemoteDX metrics.
Simple steps:
- Deploy RemoteDX plugin to endpoint.
- Make sure CU agent is installed on Citrix VDA machine which the IGEL session is connecting to.
- Configure Virtual channel to allow plugin.
You should now see RemoteDX metrics in Configuration Console and Solve (make sure you are displaying the columns for RemoteDX)Oh just one more thing, you need to reboot the Citrix VDA machine/s after you change the Virtual Channel policy for it to take effectok thanks a lot @member, I’ll double check all the points tomorrow!
@member, just confirming that my Vitual Channels are opened.
I was sent yesterday by @member the cuepux_citrix_srv.exe tester and installed it in my session. I am runing it but it’s failing with the following eror.
Where can I get this DLL ? Or did I miss something ?
Thanks in advance
When launching a Citrix session from the IGEL do you see an error in the eventlog on the VDA machine? Can you try installing the RemoteDX plugin on a laptop/pc just to test?
Thanks @member I don’t see any error on the VDA machine. I will test on a W10 kiosk (all what I have available) laptop and I’ll feedback here.
In the meantime, anybody could tell me where to get the cuepux_srv_dll ?I think this is an older version of the tool. I will have to see if it has been updated recently.
@member, sorry to be a pain, but did you manage to find an update ?
