A user asked about connecting to a datacollector for monitoring netscalers with ControlUp. They have 6 monitors but only 4 are able to connect to the datacollector, causing inconsistent data. Another user confirmed that a dedicated site is needed for all monitors to have equal access to endpoints if they are not on the same network.

Goodmorning everybody,
a quick question. I have have 6 monitors for my environment.
In order to monitor the netscalers I have to connect to a datacollector that’s on a different network.
4 out of the 6 monitors are directly connected to that network and can therefor connect to the datacollector.
The other 2 monitors are not so they are not able to connect to that datacollector.
I noticed that the monitors don’t redirect the connections to monitors that can actually connect so from time to time I’m not getting the netscaler data.
I’m looking for an option to make sure that the datacollector is only contacted using specified monitors so the connection is always possible.
Is this even possible without creating additional sites?
within the same site all monitors should have equal access to the endpoints in that site so you’d indeed need a dedicated site if this doesn’t work (since these monitors will probably only monitor these netscalers I would have them do both so monitor + datacollector)
I was afraid so. Thx for the confirmation.
