A user inquired about a data index in EDGE DX that would show the missing patch count per user/device. Another user suggests calculating this through external data manipulation. The graph on the Device Averages – Most Missing Patches view is calculated on the fly based on data in the builtin_missing_patches index. The first user wanted this information for an alert, which prompted suggestions for using the existing alert template library and providing feedback to improve orchestration capabilities. It was also suggested to create an alert library for easy import and customization. There are plans to improve scripting and alerting capabilities.

Good day
In EDGE DX is there a data index that will show me the missing patches count per user/device
eg , it will show
HostName: EugeneWin11Device
MissingPatchCount: 5
Not that I know off. You would need to calculate this yourself through external data manipulation (API, power bi etc)
OK , but there is a view under OverView – Device Averages – Most Missing Patches
its shows the device and the missing patches count Where does the Dashboard / graph get that info ?
It calculates that on the fly when loading that dashboard based of data in the builtin_missing_patches index
I think anyway. I don’t think this is stored anywhere as a number
Do you intend to get that information via API Eugene?
Hello @member
I really wanted to have the info within Data index and i wanted to use data in a alert if a device has more than 10 missing patches , then it would run the script that i have with that nice popup i poasted last week
oh, you don’t need a single number for an alert. This alert is setup in our demo environment. You’d change that number to 10 obviously. But same concept.
I love this community Thank you @member
Things like this must be in a Alerts template library
Eg the scripts Library , the team must create a Alert Library , you can import alerts, and then you just edit it to your liking
Hey Eugene, we are aware that both our scripting and alerting could use some usability improvements.
We are working out our plans to improve our overall orchestration capabilities across our products and I’m sure @member would love to get your feedback
And the extended team with @member and @member
