A user asked if the VDI reports in DEX v9.0 have the ability to show the maximum CPU load of all processes on a machine. The current view only shows average values for individual processes over a 5-minute period. The ControlUp team will look into displaying the maximum and minimum CPU usage data on the UI.

Hello all, regarding the VDI reports in DEX v9.0 – Machine Trends – CPU Load – is there now a possibility to show the max. CPU load of all processes of a machine? Currently we just see average values of single processes for a duration of 5 min. Any information on this?
Hi @member, not sure I follow this request…
this chart / data point shows the overall CPU consumption on a single machine
when you click on it, you see the top 5 processes causing the high machine CPU load:
when you say “max. CPU load of all processes of a machine”, is this not the overall machine CPU usage?
Yes, I meant the overall machine CPU usage. We just see average values in a time frame of 5 min. and we cant see any short time peaks.
ahh… OK. so indeed, for any 5-min machine data point, we store the Avg. but also the Max / Min (e.g. the lowest or highest 3-seconds sample of the relevant metric). and indeed we are not showing this in the UI right now, let me take this with the relevant PM
Thank you for your efforts, I’m looking forward to hear from you again.
