The discussion focused on issues with machines going into Error state with Horizon, and the Status from Solve and whether View and Solve views should be the same. After several insights, it was concluded the best way is to open a support ticket. Realtime DX and Solve should show the same status as Citrix and the user should open a support ticket for further investigation.

Hi all, we introduced a bad snapshot into one of our Horizon pools which resulted in a bunch of machines that go into an Error state during provisioning. In Horizon, the Status is Error, but in Solve the Status shows as Ready. Where is Solve pulling that Status from?
what does View show here?
and here?
The highlighted row in the problem vm’s is the machine I’m looking at as an example. There is another machine in Error status as well.
The status, is the agent status in Solve
So if the Horizon agent thinks it’s ok, even though View thinks it’s not, then Solve reports ready. I think that’s going to make it hard to build a trigger to catch a scenario like this in the future.
No the ControlUp Agent status
The one you are interested in (for this purpose) is HZ State
i’m not sure what the delay is in Solve. I’m testing a new trigger now and am making machines unreachable (stopping the horizon agent service) and it take a few min for Horizon to see it and a few more for RTC to see it.
HZ State is exactly what I’m looking for
HZ Cloning Error Message can also be interesting
Thank you both for your time!
More than welcome. I always like to “mouse over” the column title
That way you have more details on what’s the column is all about
(most of the time :))
That’s perfect! Thank you again! We know what the root issue is and we’re working on republishing. I’m just getting a trigger together to help us catch this sooner in the future!
Another question, this one would probably be a good idea to ask separately but it’s loosely related to this one. I have a machine that looks fine in Horizon, and the HZ Cloning Error Message in Solve\RT are showing different values. Solve shows the error message we’ve been looking at today, RT shows nothing, and Horizon doesn’t show any errors. The machine went through Automatic error recovery by Horizon so it was rebuilt. The machine does appear to be functional and a user is currently signed in. It looks like Solve just hasn’t let go of that cloning error message yet. Any thoughts?
Haven’t seen this before
I know that for Citrix, the column shows the last error for the machine (that’s what Citrix provides in their API/SDK)
But Realtime DX and Solve should show the exact same thing
I’d suggest to open a support ticket
Or maybe one of our support wizards already had a similar issue. @member maybe?
This is a new one for me also, but @member please send in a ticket and we can dig a little deeper into what is causing this.
Thank you!
