A user suggested a security policy to allow/deny changing views in ControlUp Console, which would have to be set on a per-user basis. It has been 6 years since views became global while the column order is still per user and stored in appdata XML. If a new view is created, everyone sees it, which might explain why our demo lab is "jam packed with them". The user tested that after moving OS to the left, closing the console, deleting the private config, and relaunching the console, OS was back to the right.

Feature request (correct me if it is not already there) security policy to allow or deny the changing of views in console
The views are selected on a per-user basis. You can however assign views to folders using the Presets.
The columns available in the views and the views them selves are global but the order of the columns and the view you select are per user.
they were not always like that
the view are at global level
i been seeting them for years and the constantly change i always assumed they were getting changed by other users
If you create a new view everyone sees it. Its been that way for the 6 years I’ve been here. Our demo lab is jam packed with them because of it.
And columns in them are global but the column order is per user. Stored in the private XML in appdata.
i’m not sure that true i will need to test. as the colume order i set is always change for me on all customers i have to fix on a regular basis
i just gave me a task to go fix it g=for me on all my customers sittes as they are messed up
Here you go. I moved OS to the left, closed the console, deleted the private config, and then relaunched the console. OS is back to the right.
