A user ran into issues with their trigger alert that was supposed to automatically start several services, but only two of them were able to be accommodated by ControlUp. The trigger was set up as a "Process Ended" trigger. Another user suggested trying a script-based action and shared a link to support documentation. The original user will try setting up a new trigger using "Scheduled Task" in hopes that it will work.
Read the entire ‘Issues with Trigger Alert and Starting Services in ControlUp’ thread below:
I have created a trigger alert that will automatically start the services of the following
frxccds.exe
TermSercice.exe
hasplms.exe
ProfSvc.exe
RdAgent.exe
RDAgentBootLoader.exe
but only 2 services frxccds.exe and RdAgent.exe are the only services that is able to accommodate by ControlUp. Is this the limitation of ControlUP or is there another way to fix this issue?
What kind of trigger is this?
If it’s advanced > service. Then the name is the service name. Not the executable.
would display like this if was advance – service
I think is doing it advance – Process
i think this is what you want with a Script bases action to start the service
thank you for the reply
the trigger that I use is "Process Ended". I already have the script to start the services that showing stop and the script does work since I tested to manually stop the services. But when I tried to setup the trigger on CU and tried on a test machine (manually stopping the services) I only got the alert for frxccds.exe and RdAgent.exe. Only this 2 services are able to get the alerts and run the script runs to start the process and the other services I am not getting the email alert and run the fix, but when I try to manually run the script on the test machine the other services will start.
I will try to create a new trigger using "Schedule Task" hopefully I can make it work
