A custom report was requested to make the machine names clickable, where the Device IDs can be pulled up and added into the URL. Product Owner @member was challenged with getting the Device IDs via a script and adding it to the report. This feature request was met with enthusiasm and it was suggested to use the Device ID found in the Registry. https://tenant.sip.controlup.com/device/#DeviceID#

Is there a way w/ custom reports to make the machine name a hyperlink/clickable like they are in some of the canned reports?
Maybe you can pull the device ID and insert it into the index with your URL in front of it?
do you mean in my bios script i made that this report is based off of somehow add in a device id lookup?

looks like this index does have the device ID actually so good start i guess?
Just not sure how to get that from your script.
@member Interesting use case for you! He likes those… ๐
@member including you here – in custom reports, we should make the fields _device_name
and _device_id
clickable
in case i want to filter down a custom report and open selective desktops from that or something
and only reason i thought of it was that some of the canned reports you CAN do it already
Yeah – on canned reports you can – we should on custom reports too hence included @member (product owner)
oh nice!
I’ll add that to the list, thanks!
would be super helpful i’m sure
Look at the speed of that feature request! ๐
not too shabby ๐ now see how quick implementation can be….ready…..go! ๐
You challenging the Jons? ๐
If you want to use the device ID for some reason, it is stored in the registry.
My thought was you could use that on the end of your tenant URL to at least build a hyperlink to the machine.
whatever you can do for this would be awesome! thanks guys!
