A user was trying to connect to Solve with insufficient permissions. It was determined that they needed to have the "Use Solve" permission allowed and be a member of the authorized users group. This setting can be adjusted during ControlUp installation.

Hello,
What are the stict minimum permissions to define in the RT Console to allow a security group to just access Solve please ?
I have defined a “CUP Solve User” group in the RT console, in the security policy I denied every thing except “Use Solve” and “Connect to data sources” which are set to allow.
A user is trying to connect but the permissions are not sufficient.
Use Solve is the correct one, possibly the upn isn’t being recognized properly
Hello Wouter 😃
Hope you’re doing well 🙂
Thank you for your answer. The user enters his name correctly (login@domain). How can I troubleshoot it please ?
Is it case sensitive ?
domain isn’t upn per se let him run whoami /upn
for the rest please open a ticket, support might have a few more tricks
Thank you Wouter, I get the UPN and it’s correct. Furthermore, I tried with a technical account : when the TA is in an administrative group, it works (the account connects to Solve), when the TA only belongs to the group CUP Solve User, it is not able to connect to Solve 😕
As far as I’m aware, for on-prem web access, you need to be in the security group that is allowed to use ControlUp. As in the group you select during COP installation.
Yes you’re right @member : I added the user to the Authorized Users Of Control UP RT Console and it worked.
So the minimum requirement for Solve is :
• Use Solve permission allowed
• Be member of the authorized users group.
Thanks.
Credit to @member 😄
For those reading along or coming across this in the future, it is this setting during COP installation.
