Troubleshooting Event Log Trigger Alerts for Applications and Services Logs
A user asked if anyone had any experience getting custom Event Viewer trigger alerts to work for applications and service logs, and whether they were able to get the process working correctly. It was suggested to ensure that the console was correctly collecting events before setting up triggers, and that the events were accessible in Powershell. The user was then referred to a ControlUp article (Real-Time Console - Events Pane [https://helpcenter.controlup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015114517-Real-Time-Console-Events-Pane]) before it was suggested they use the "scheduled task trick" to create an event in the application.

Performance Monitor Counters – An Overview
@member shared insight into various Performance Monitor Counters, such as CPU Queue Length, Disk Queue Length, Open Handles, Context Switches, and Peak User Input Delay. These metrics measure capacity, thread waiting to be executed, open file handles, rate of context switches, and maximum delay experienced by user input, respectively. Information on these metrics can be found in Microsoft documents (https://systemcenter.wiki/) and a blog post by ControlUp (https://www.controlup.com/resources/blog/).

Reducing Login Times with ControlUp
A discussion was had on reducing login times using Citrix Profile Management, group policies and folder redirection. AppX Load Packages and App/Desktop Icon clicked until ICA File Downloaded are taking up significant time. Server OS machines have faster AppX package loads than Client OS machines, indicating the possibility of using Server VDI. More information can be found in the ControlUp blog post at https://www.controlup.com/resources/blog/entry/logon-duration-research-appx-packages/.

Troubleshooting a Telephony Issue With ControlUp Data
A user asked if it is possible to get granular data from ControlUp to troubleshoot an issue with calls dropping on a telephony system. It was suggested that an alert or script be set up to gather data, however the customer preferred to use Citrix ADM. ControlUp already gives extra details for the Protocol Latency metric such as Min, Max and Avg over a 5-minute interval and users were asked if this was helpful for the issue. The question was left open-ended to determine if more granular data could be made available in the future.

Troubleshooting Video Latency on Non-Persistent VM with ControlUp
A user asked about troubleshooting video latency on a non-persistent VM, and it was suggested to use User Session Details in Solve as the best starting point. If Remote DX was installed, they can also watch session relevant latency, CPU, RAM and other metrics in a single place. Script Action can be used for advanced data collection. The Network Latency graph may be legit, but there was a known issue with the Linux RDX plugin. A new beta version which fixes this issue will be available soon. After sifting through the data, 3.75GB of RAM usage was found - they will look at adjusting graphics settings with Horizon View.

Understanding Bandwidth Limit and How it Differs from Speed Test in ControlUp
The discussion covered understanding bandwidth Limit, what it is related to, and how it differs from Speed Test. It was suggested RemoteDX or Edge can be used to run periodic bandwidth tests and determine the type of tests to run. It was also suggested that bandwidth limit is stored historically and that what factors need to be considered when measuring latency and disconnections.
