A discussion was held to determine if an error code meant there was an issue, and it was concluded to reach out to support as the error was likely due to the lack of a metric from the Citrix Broker Service category in the Windows Standard Performance Monitor.

Improving Location Data Accuracy with Customization Options in ControlUp
Location data often has inaccuracies when pulled from GPS info or ISP IP databases. Though enabling Location Services on a laptop provides more exact house locations, improvements are coming that will let the user assign a custom location. This can be assigned to all devices with a certain range of IP addresses, for example, all devices with X IP addresses in Office Site A.

Improving Performance from ControlUp Real-Time Client
A user asked advice on how to help with the real-time client not using a minimum of 1.4 GB RAM, due to the in-ram database the monitors use. It was suggested to connect to the hypervisor and EUC sites only and drill into the machines to connect to the agent. Solve and the web portal are the paths forward, with the ability to open different views in different browser tabs or on multiple screens, as well as stream Session Activity Reports in Solve. The user also asked about the Session Client Report and it was suggested to manage the columns in the presets and to use the ability to share report configurations.

Investigating BSOD Reports with ControlUp
A user asked how they can get a BSOD report put into the Device Events of the computer it happened on, and also what parameters are available. A ControlUp member suggested the bug check code should be converted to Hex, and provided an example. They also recommended the user look into scripting, or upgrade to agent 2.13, which includes Windows Error Reporting. ControlUp 2.13 will provide UC&C improvements.

Documentation on Encryption of Data Sent to AWS from Monitors
The user asked for documentation regarding the encryption of data sent to AWS from monitors. It was suggested to check out https://support.controlup.com/docs/controlup-architecture-security-concepts. All data is encrypted with the Rijndael algorithm (AES) with a 128-bit encryption key. Depending on the mode either ControlUp Cloud servers or local storage will be used to store the key.

Can the ControlUp RealTime DX Console Be Run From Another Server?
It is possible to run the ControlUp RealTime DX Console from another server other than the Monitor as long as it meets the requirements outlined in the Knowledge Base article https://support.controlup.com/docs/communication-ports-used-by-controlup-hybrid-cloud-1. Having the Console on the Monitor server is not preferred as it can bog down resources and can lead to corrupted RAM databases which may cause alerts and automation not to fire. It is best practice for users to open the Console on a dedicated machine and to use the DEX platform instead of Solve.

Investigating Input Delay Causes using ControlUp
A user wanted to understand the cause of an input delay (measured at 60s), but the CPU said 21%, hover-over didn't show anything, and active processes revealed nothing more than 0%. The suggestion was to look at the process_stops index, but there is no way to add this into an alert for easy identification.

Troubleshooting DB Configuration with ControlUp
A user was having trouble with their DB configuration as it was hosted in a cluster. The error message indicated that this was due to the database being involved in a database mirroring session or an availability group, and that they were using version 8.6.0.192. The suggested solution was to set the DB to Full Recovery, and to disable the DAG for that DB during install and then re-enable it afterwards.

Automating the Disabling of Maintenance Mode on Virtual Desktops
A user asked whether it was possible to automate the process of disabling maintenance mode on virtual desktops. Suggestions include marking the systems by using the eventlog, using registry keys for non-persistent systems, and using a local database. Citrix's Load Index was mentioned as a simpler solution, and it was clarified that it uses CPU, RAM, and maximum user numbers to calculate the effective load. ControlUp Automation and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Policy Settings were both suggested as useful solutions.
