The conversation began with customers asking for the ability to filter applications in widgets, blacklisting or whitelisting them. ControlUp is now excluding ControlUp processes and allowing customization of widgets in the upcoming Solve release. In addition, there will soon be a new analytic report for machines with high CPU. Finally, users can use Export-CuQuery to create a workaround to get data on applications crashing or hanging.

Monitoring VeloCloud SD-WAN Routers with ControlUp Scoutbees
A user asked about monitoring VeloCloud SD-WAN routers with Scoutbees or script actions. The respondent suggested availability could be monitored using a ping or http/s test, while a more advanced solution could be done with the shell test. For deeper performance monitoring, it depends on the router's OS - for a supported Linux flavor Edge DX may be an option. Syslog capabilities and the operating system should be investigated to check for other options.

Clarifying ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX Use Cases
Paul asked for clarification between ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX and their use cases. EdgeDX is a standalone agent and RemoteDX is a plugin to Citrix Workspace/Horizon Client. Paul wants to get data from sessions, and tested with Mac, where EdgeDX data was visible but not data was visible in session views. RemoteDX was installed but did not show data in the session view. Further testing and a ticket may be necessary. More information on the Virtual Channel configuration can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/remote-dx-known-issues.

How to Install Edge DX on macOS with WSS Agent
James suggested adding Edge DX application paths to an executable bypass list in order to communicate with the tenant correctly when Symantec WSS Agent or a similar web content/ proxy agent is installed on macOS. The application paths are usr/local/com.controlup.edgedx.agent, usr/local/com.controlup.edgedx.agentmanager, and /Volumes/ControlUp Edge DX. Investigating Delays for Dedicated Citrix MCS VDI
A user reported that all applications on their dedicated Citrix MCS VDI, which has 6xCPU and 64GB RAM for running Bloomberg and other heavy apps, have experienced delay, including mouse delays. It was suggested to check the latency Last metric in the RT console, or the latency metrics via the Session Details report in Insights. RemoteDX and Scoutbees were also mentioned as useful tools to check the endpoints network conditions and latency to the backend servers. A temporary license had been applied for to test these products.

Anyone have experience with ControlUp Edge DX & XenApp provisioned TS / VDI?
A user asked about experience with EdgeDX and XenApp provisioned TS/VDI and was recommended to deploy RealTimeDX instead due to its stateless nature and the fact that it will need rebooting to change the device ID and lose historical reports. To overcome this for Teams Monitoring, the user could install the EdgeDX Agent with a known switch, make a hardcoded link from the C and D drives, and set the custom RegisterWithDeviceName setting to be true. The user then asked if this was officially supported and if it would be coming to EdgeDX or Realtime/Solve, and was told that it is very interesting.

Setting up Alert for Remote On-Prem Servers in ControlUp
Several users asked about creating an alert to notify them if two on-prem servers are offline longer than 10 minutes. It was suggested to set up a script to check the servers and additional metrics every 10 minutes, run a Scout to test ports for the service, or use the ‘System Down’ trigger in Console (RealtimeDX). A brainstorm session was organized for the next day to further discuss the issue.
