Troubleshooting Error “File… is not digitally signed… see about_Exectin_Policies…” in ControlUp
The user was running an Analyze Logon Duration script against two different VDI environments but was receiving an error message relating to the execution policy not being set correctly with the W2K12 PVS. Modifying the GPO was explored but it was ultimately discovered that the script was incorrectly signed because of a space being added at the end of the file. Suggestions were made to double-check scripts if modified by colleagues. ControlUp SBAs and an update to W2K19 were also mentioned.

The Benefit of Running RemoteDX and EdgeDX Together
A user asked if there was any benefit to running both RemoteDX and EdgeDX in addition to each other. They are completely different, with RemoteDX adding extra metrics to VDI sessions and EdgeDX focused on corporate physical endpoints. Though each offers different data, there is benefit in drilling down from RemoteDX to the device in EdgeDX. Real-Time DX and Edge DX are two different products, so EdgeDX data is not viewable in Real-Time DX but Solve and DEX provide this data in the same web interface.

Understanding Desktop Load Time in CU Insights for VDI Environments
The user asked for an explanation of the Desktop Load Time parameter in CU Insights for Citrix VDI environments - this is the average duration of the desktop initialization phase, including the Active Setup phase if it is the first time a user logs on to a Windows computer. The user also asked what can affect the duration and if any methods are available to fight the parameter and make the Logon Duration Score lower. Further information is available at https://support.controlup.com/docs/logon-duration-report and https://www.controlup.com/resources/blog/entry/troubleshoot-and-speed-up-windows-logons-in-desktop-virtualization-environments/.

How to Edit “Shared Credentials” in Folder Selection in ControlUp Real-Time DX
A user asked why they cannot edit the "Shared Credentials" security option on a folder selection. They are not the Roles manager, and another user could edit it. The other user mentioned Agents don't use shared credentials, and typically you don't allow the shared creds globally. There is worry for giving EUC team rights to the servers and VDI workstations in the same hypervisor cluster, and the suggestion was giving read-only permission in the console only without granting the "Run Host Actions".

Help with hung User Sessions in EUC Platforms on ControlUp Real-Time DX
This EUC discussion explored solutions to an issue where user's sessions are hung and don't want to reconnect. ControlUp's Invoke-cuquery can be used to figure out where a user has sessions, and a registry key value can be used to log them off - though this process must be done remotely. Alternately, there may be solutions available through the EUC platform. When sessions don't disconnect, this is usually due to antivirus, onedrive, or any systray tool - the best solution is to add these to the LogoffCheckSysModules registry value.

ControlUp Licensing and License Pooling
The user asked about ControlUp licenses - there are concurrent licenses based on the number of opened sessions, and pooling is used to keep track of license usage. For VDI, licenses are counted for each powered on machine. More information on this can be found in the pricing page on the ControlUp website (https://www.controlup.com/pricing/).

Anyone experienced logon issues with Crowdstrike on their VDI?
A user asked about logon issues with CrowdStrike on VDI, especially Citrix. A client has experienced issues on Horizon VDI before, and the current user is seeing slow logon times. Potential solutions include running an analyze logon script, disabling CrowdStrike and improving performance from VMware DEM Manager.

Troubleshooting Abnormal Alerts from Scoutbees EUC
A user reported above-average alerts from Scoutbees EUC scouts in Frankfurt. It was suggested to set up an extra hive to exclude any issue within the existing one. The ControlUp team could not confirm any change has been made in the VDI environment, and suggested to manually access the tested resources to validate the credentials. Support was contacted to troubleshoot the issue further and the user indicated they will be monitoring the issue in the coming days.
