The ControlUp team discusses a recent folder structure change that has resulted in reporting data being split between the old and new directory. It is not possible to move the older data to the new location and there is no way to hide it from other users. The historic data will eventually drop off after a year and will only show under the year selection. Some users have found that the folder structure greatly affects their stress levels, alerts, automation, and reports. It is advised to make changes to the folder structure only for significant reasons as it can still be adjusted for minor projects without impacting the main structure of the historical data.

Morning all, We recently had a move around with some of our folder structures in DX and have now noticed that reporting data in DEX is being stored under the new folder structure (which was the intention) but the historic data has not moved across and its located in the old folder structure. Is there anyway to move the historic data to the new location if not is there anyway to remove the older data?
the answer is no to both it will always return all data for all folders used during that time period. So if you changed it yesterday the 4h window now will only show the new folders but a week will include the old ones.
Is there anyway to hide the data from other users?
sadly no
No worries, thanks for coming back so quickly ๐
Will it drop off once it goes past the year?
yes
and after a month you need to look back to the year selection to see it for example
learned that the hard way as well ๐
Yeah I’ve just been asked to change the folder structure again ๐
Going back to old structure will not fix it
No I mean they want another re-jig ๐
haha ๐ the folder succture for me is the most important setup, affects stress levels. alerts, automation and reports
Yeah this is my main issue as well, I don’t really want to make anymore changes especially when its such a trivial change.
yeah folder stucture is the one area i stand firm on changes and need to be a good reason. Remeber you can move machines around so if it for minor projects on someing you can make temp folders and sub folders and still keep the main structure of the historical data
