A customer upgraded their On-Premises environment from 8.5 to 8.7 and introduced SOP 8.7, however it was not functioning. Possible fixes such as restarting ControlUp Monitor and SOP, changing the SSL cert, toggling "Ignore SSL Cert Errors", checking port 443, checking UserManagement logs, checking docker logs, creating a monitor log (Log4Net) and generating the key file again were suggested. They would also benefit from visiting https://support.controlup.com/v1/docs/cop-87-security-enhancement-for-monitor-sop-communication for further instructions.

[Solve On-Premises 8.7]
Hi guys,
we just upgraded the On-Prem env (COP and IOP) of a customer from 8.5 to 8.7 and introduced SOP 8.7 (prior to today there was no SOP!). Unfortunately SOP is not working (see screenshot)…
Port 443 between Monitor and SOP is open. (checked with Test-NetConnection)
Monitor is uploading data to IOP so I assume that the ControlUp monitor is not completely broken…
Restarting ControlUp Monitor and SOP doesn’t make any difference…
We additionally changed the SSL cert on SOP to a valid internal one…
Toggling "Ignore SSL Cert Errors" in Monitor settings for SOP doesnt make any difference.
Any hints are greatly appreciated.

Did you configure the key file in the COP installation? This is needed from 8.7Yup.
Did you restart the monitors?
Also check the UserManagement logs
It should looks like this:
Yup, restarted several times 🙂
Haven’t checked UserManagement Logs yet…
Here are some other tips:
- Check the docker logs for the monitor-proxy container.
- Create a monitor log (Log4Net)
- Generate the key file again by running sudo /opt/scripts/sop-cert-generate.sh Import this file to your COP configuration again, restart the monitor
Thanks Benjamin,
First one I already checked and haven’t found something obvious for me but maybe Support will find something 🙂
Second one; I got the log4net from Kubi but was distracted to implement it during customer visit (we switched to a ControlUp Demo) 😄
Third one I will try…
I have the same issue
