A user asked about greyed out hosts and datastores in a trial version of ControlUp on-premise. After asking questions, it was discovered that the service account for the SQL DB had misconfigured and expired. After being fixed, the user was able to drill down and up again.

Hello,
I went down to my server in Solve and I can’t get to the related Hosts or Datastores. Why are they are greyed out?
I am running a trial version on-premise.
Thanks in advance
Do you have the hypervisor added to the realtime console? Is the monitor connected to it?
If you click the arrow to pop out the tree do you see your hypervisor there?
Thanks for the so quick answer!
I do have a connexion:
are you focussed on the root folder (so the LandonWinburn.com one in Landon’s example)? Or are you drilled down into a folder with agents because that might explain it
Yes thanks, I had drilled down into one of my folders. Wouldn’t itbe nice to be able to go to the related hosts or datastores in this case?
I can’t reproduce the problem since I have performance problems, though I boosted the appliance to 12vcpu and 64Gb RAM… It keeps telling me it’s "fetching data"…
I even have this now:
you don’t need to scale the solve appliance, the fetching data means the monitors are having a hard time. We’ll have a look at that later today
Thanks again. after the call we found that the service account for the SQL DB was actually misconfigured one year ago and had expired…
All working fine and I can drill down and up again. 😃
