The discussion covered troubleshooting tips for appx package issues. It suggested using "AppX packages loaded" section and procmon’ing the affected user to gain more visibility. It also included a link to a video and summarized the relevant section relating to troubleshooting gaps. The video can be found at https://youtu.be/jyj5dEpXg_Y?t=1872.

Hi Guys any tips on how to work out appx package issues
Pinging @member as he wrote that bit. What does it show in the “AppX packages loaded” section below – any long durations in there?
The 10 minute gap between gpo and appx is also interesting
that was all the pachages listed
The AppX package section relies on when the windows events were generated… When I originally wrote the piece it was to show how long the packages took to ‘load’ (which I think was Microsoft terminology)
but there are other stages that aren’t reflected in there because Microsoft seperated them out (things like creating firewall rules, push notification registeration, etc.). Microsoft they weren’t apart of the ‘loading stage’
the “gap” though, is something else
it’s not a part of your “appx loading” part
yeah i read that and looking at implementing option 1
but yeah the gap was the big one for me
The Gap in your screenshot is the time between the group policy phase ending and the next phase beginning (which happens to be the AppX stage)
the output does look like you may not have all the pre-req’s enabled? I think there should be more to the shell stage?
i am checking if we can isolate a user to a sever and look at what happens at logon
@member has a event log aggregator script (I have a script action prototype I can share too) that you can use to try and see what’s occuring during that stage for -after the fact- troubleshooting
Otherwise, procmon’ing the affected user can be done to see if there is more visibility
waiting CR approval to get additional audit stuff enabled
This might be of interest to you for the tools I use and how to try and diagnose gaps and the like. I use a real-world example (How the Citrix RSOP stage came into being added to ALD) during the presentation:
cheers i’ll watch that later
