A user asked about the "Logon Duration – Other" metric and if there is a definition of user logon time that can be seen as comfortable. According to the responses, the metric is time that cannot be categorized into neat buckets and can be analyzed using the ControlUp script “Analyze Logon Durations”. In addition, Auditing should be enabled and Procon Mon can be used to look for more detailed information.

Hi,
Can someone explain to me what the “Logon Duration – Other” metric really is ? Is the only option that can measure this metric and give some concrete result a properly working ALD script ? Often the loading of the user profile together with the GP Load Time score low but Logon Duration – Other unfortunately this metric, contributes to the long logon time of the user in the Horizon environment….
Also, is there a definition of user logon time that we can consider comfortable ? Expressed in sec ? Thank you in advance for any hint !
to get a proper breakdown of the user logon you should use the script action analyse logon durations

Best way to explain Logon Duration other:
Let’s imagine a 60 second activity. For 15 of those 60 seconds you don’t know what activity was occurring, but you know the activity was 60 seconds. In this scenario, we’d have a logon of 60 seconds, with 45 seconds of time we can report on and 15 seconds we cannot.
Those 15 seconds are “Logon duration – Other”
the thing about those 15 seconds is it could be broken in various chunks. Like 10 seconds at the start and 5 at the end. Combined it’s 15 seconds of “Other” time
Essentially, “Logon Duration – Other” is time we cannot categorize into our nice neat buckets
@member This script, in my case, unfortunately does not show the start and end of the start of the individual services, it only shows the GPO itself, how long they take to load when the user logs in… I understand that there is no other way of verifying this metric?
do u have lots of errors/warnings at the bottom of the outbput?
https://support.controlup.com/docs/enable-auditing-for-analyze-logon-duration-script
you need to have config enabled
Yes i have this warrning
work through those warns will get you alot more info. Still my not give you everything. If it still not given you waht you need you will prob see larg gaps
if so youo need to use prcon mon to see inside the gaps
you can use the time stamps to help pinpoint the area in the promon to look. might be a a few 100k of kines instead of millions
needle in a hay stack just helps make haystack smaller
Awesome details @member! Thanks
@member just feeding back the years of info you guys gave me on support. My trainer’s
